A refrain

A recurring song that I hum all day long.

I don’t know how long this would last.

But I also know it is here now, if not forever.


During nights when I am wide awake, singing a silent song.

I know you are there, singing along.

Reassuring enough for me to slip into a dreamless sleep.


I string along unknown paths, alone if not for the refrain.

That tags along, hopelessly, in my aimless journey.

Keeping me warm enough in the cold pursuit.



The journey may end, or if there is no end to it.

Nothing is certain, however certain they may sound.

But I also know it is here now, if not forever.
